Day I: Official ADAPT LOGO

July 20, 2017: Psalm 8

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
    the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
 what is man that you are mindful of him,
    and the son of man that you care for him?

Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
    and crowned him with glory and honor. (vs. 3-5)

Today I am grateful for:

  • Those who have the courage to be on the front lines
  • For the birth of my friend’s baby girl
  • Excellent books
  • Anticipation of getting to see someone again
  • That the American workforce is no longer a ladder but a jungle gym
So, apparently, the sky is not the limit

July 21, 2017: Psalm 148

Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord from the heavens;
    praise him in the heights!
 Praise him, all his angels;
    praise him, all his hosts!

 Praise him, sun and moon,
    praise him, all you shining stars!
Praise him, you highest heavens,
    and you waters above the heavens! (Vs. 1-4)

July 23, 2017: Psalm 146

Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
    whose hope is in the Lord his God,
 who made heaven and earth,
    the sea, and all that is in them,
who keeps faith forever;
     who executes justice for the oppressed,
    who gives food to the hungry.

The Lord sets the prisoners free;
     the Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
    the Lord loves the righteous.
 The Lord watches over the sojourners;
    he upholds the widow and the fatherless,
    but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. (vs. 5-9)

Just because things are unfinished (and messy looking) doesn’t mean things aren’t working toward our good.

July 25. 2017: Romans 8

 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. (vs. 27-29)
